West side of street

This building was constructed, circa 1855, as a simple Greek Revival style rectangle with the gable end facing the street.

This cedar shingle covered house was probably built circa 1855, as a single-story wood clapboard Greek Revival style structure with the broken pediment gable facing the street, for/by Theodore Selden. The 1872 Map of the Village shows the footprint of a rectangular building on the site then, owner, William Molbey/Malby. The small gabled front entryway and sunroom on the south side were added circa 1930. William Malby was among the earliest settlers, in Clarkston by 1836. He and his wife were among the first members of Methodist Episcopal Church congregation.
