Peter & Mary came to Independence Township in 1836 building a home on Waldon Rd. ( Sashabaw Street according to Nelson W. Clark's Plat ). Peter planted an orchard around the house. A staunch Methodist, Peter gave $500 for construction of the church, and provided all the stone for its foundation from his farm. See 6/22/67 Clarkston News article by Constance Lektzian.
