One of Clarkston's early settlers. According to 1860 Clarkston census records William was a 45 year old farm laborer who was born in N.Y. Margaret, his wife, was born in 1818 in N.Y. Also listed were Harriet, a 19 year old domestic; James, 14; Margaret,12 and Eleanor, 4, all born in Michigan.
