An obit. in the Clarkston News, 6/10/32, is for "Hiram P. Howe", age 87. Born, Batavia, N. Y., 1845. It says he came here with his parents, Mr. & Mrs. John W. Howe at age 2; that he married Emma J. Howell; & that had a dry goods business where Louis Walter's store "is".
Wife, Emma Jane. Died in 1938.
Henry H. & brother, James P., were merchants at 27 S. Main before building the Italian Revival brick building at 5 S. Main where they operated a general store until 1884/1885 when Ed. A. Urch took James' place. Henry was a president of the Union Cemetery. Henry's residence was the house he built in 1877 at 91 N. Main.
