Born 12/08/1839. Died 9/22/1888. Son of John & Alice Reese of Pembrookshire, Wales. According to the 1891 Portrait & Biographical Album of Oakland Co., pages 670 & 671, Joseph came to America age 12. His parents first settled in Ohio coming to Michigan a year later.
1st wife Anna Daniels. She & Joseph were married February, 1864. She died in 1886.
2nd wife, Hettie Jefferson, of Tyron, Livingston Co.. Hettie died in July of 1905.
3rd wife, Christina Allen, widow of L. W. Allen.
Joseph & his brother David first purchased "the old home place" then" the old Howe farm". See the 1872 map which shows the property on both sides of Reese Road in Section 7 of Independence Township. He retired to his house, in Clarkston at 114/116 North Main Street and built the two houses to the north, 122 & 130 N. Main for resale.
