- Stamp, a Detroit College of Law graduate, was an attorney in Detroit before coming to Clarkston. In 1933 he bought the Clarkston News founded in 1929. Mrs. Stamp became the papers editor. The couple handled the advertising & printing of the paper. After selling the paper to James Sherman,Stamp became Clarkston's Justice of the Peace.
