King was manager of the Clarkston State Bank until his death in 1947. He came to Clarkston in 1914, having had banking experience in Detroit & Ohio, to reorganize the bank after the failure of the Jossman St. Bank. He succeeded Ray Ackerson as cashier. He also served as an Independence Township Treasurer. Their residence was the house at 55 N. Main which was built for them.
