28 North Holcomb St.

East side of street

This small scale Greek Revival style farmhouse was built by 1860 for/by Richard Bloomfield/Broomfield. The 1860 tax rolls listed a "dwelling and company" on this site then. By 1870 Bloomfield had moved to a house at 50 S. Main . The 1872 Map of the Village has the footprint of an L-shaped building on this site, that is, the original one & 1/2 story with single story wing building typical of many other early Clarkston houses. The owner at the time, Rebecca Bescherer, also owned a farm. The dormers on the north and west facades are later, circa 1920s, additions. The porch on the north side was added about 1990. The house has been long used as a two family residence.
